CUSAT CAT 2015 Online Registration starts on January 5th, 2015

Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi, Kerala – CUSAT invited online applications for CAT 2015 for admission to various academic programmes for the year 2015-16. Eligible candidates can apply online through www.cusat.nic.in or www.cusat.ac.in from 05-01-2015 to 24-01-2015. CUSAT Courses Admission through CAT 2015

Applicants for the following programmes are required to appear for CAT 2015.

1.1 FIRST DEGREE PROGRAMMES

A. B.Tech. in Civil Engg., Computer Science & Engg., Electrical & Electronics Engg. and Safety & Fire Engg.
B. B.Tech. in Polymer Science & Engineering
C. Five Year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics
D. B.Tech. in Instrumentation Technology
E. B.Tech. in Marine Engg. (Residential Programme)
F. B.Tech. in Naval Architecture & Ship Building
G. 5 Year B.B.A LL.B. (Hons.) (Cost sharing)
H. 5 Year B.Com.LL.B (Hons) (Cost sharing)

Eligibility criteria:

For item A, B & C: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together

For item D: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together, with at least 55% in mathematics separately.

For item E :
1. Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for mathematics alone. Should have obtained 50% marks
in English at 10th or 12th standards. This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also.
2. Medical fitness Certificate obtained from Medical Examiners approved by DG Shipping is required
3. Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.
4. The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.
5. Eligibility for admission is based on the directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)

For item F :
Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with a First Class (60%) securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics as well as for mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
For item G:
1. Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science / Commerce group or 55% marks in Arts / Humanities.
2. Should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case of SC / ST and OBC candidates.

For item H :
1. Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science group or 55% marks in Commerce / Arts / Humanities
2. Should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case of SC / ST and OBC candidates. (Students who have taken their 10+2 or degree through distance or correspondence method are eligible to apply for B.B.A LL.B. and B.Com.LL.B (Hons.), whereas those who passed the course through Open University Scheme without any basic qualifications are ineligible for admission to this course)

1.2 POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

Eligibility criteria:

3 year LLB : Pass in Bachelors degree with not less than 40% marks in the aggregate in any discipline of a University recognized by CUSAT (35% for SC/ST candidates)
LL.M. : Bachelor’s degree in Law with at least 45% marks.
M.A. Hindi Language and Literature : B.A./B.Sc. degree with Hindi as a subject of study with at least 45% marks in Hindi.
M.B.A. (Full-time ): Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
M.B.A. (Part-time ) : i. Bachelors degree in any subject with 50% marks in aggregate.
ii. 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates having 3 years of supervisory / executive experience after taking the degree
iii. In the absence of such candidates as mentioned in (ii) vacancies will be offered to any other candidates satisfying eligibility as per (i).
M.B.A.(Travel & Tourism) : Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
M.B.A.(International Business) : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognized by the University with 50% marks in aggregate.
M.A. Applied Economics : Bachelor’s degree in Economics with 55% marks in Part III (Economics and Subsidiaries) or 60% marks with B.Com., BBA, BBM with Economics as one of the subject or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with 65% marks.
M.C.A. (Regular and Cost Sharing) : Any graduate with mathematics as one of the main or subsidiary subjects or graduate in Electronics/
Computer Science/Computer Applications/Engg./Technology with aggregate 55% marks in all subjects other than Languages and Humanities.

MSc. Chemistry : B.Sc. degree with Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/ Petrochemicals (main), with Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects with at least 55% marks in the main subject.
M.Sc. Biotechnology : Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences including Agricultural and Medical Science or Chemical Science
or Chemical Engg. with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
M.Sc in Biopolymer Science : B.Sc degree with Chemistry as one of the main or subsidiary subjects. The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the main and subsidiary subjects taken together. The course is conducted by CIPET (Centre for Bio-Polymer Science & Technology, Eloor, Kochi) in collaboration with CUSAT
M.Sc. Electronic Science (with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Microwave, Electronics and Computer Technology) : First class B.Sc. degree with not less than 60% aggregate marks in Electronics or Physics.
MSc. Environmental Technology : Stream I – Environmental Engineering. Graduate in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or Graduate in Engg. (Civil/Public Health /Environmental/Chemical) with 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the
qualifying exam and a valid score in the CAT, conducted by the University.
Stream II – Environmental Bio-Technology : Graduate in Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Botany/ Microbiology with 55% marks (50% in the
case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the qualifying exam and a valid score in the CAT exam conducted by the University.
MSc. Hydrochemistry : B.Sc. degree in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or B.Sc. degree of any University in Kerala with Polymer Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Petrochemicals/Environment & Water Management as the main subject and Mathematics and Physics/Computer Science, as subsidiaries with a minimum of 55% marks in the respective main subject.
M. Sc. Industrial Fisheries : Bachelor’s degree in Zoology/Botany/Fisheries with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects. Bachelor’s
degree in Fisheries includes Industrial Fisheries/Aquaculture/Fishery Science/Industrial Fish and Fisheries/ BFSc. in Nautical science.
M.Sc. Instrumentation : B.Sc degree in Instrumentation / Physics / Electronics with 60% marks from any recognized University M. Sc. Marine Biology
B.Sc. degree with any branch of Life Sciences such as Aquaculture, Bio-chemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Microbiology and Zoology as a main subject or B.Sc. degree in Fishery Science with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects.
M.Sc. Marine Geology : B.Sc. degree in Geology /Physics/Chemistry with at least 60% aggregate marks.
M.Sc. Marine Geophysics : B.Sc. degree in Geology or Physics with Mathematics as one of the subjects and at least 60% aggregate marks
M.Sc Mathematics : B.Sc. degree with Mathematics main, with at least 55% marks for optional subjects taken together.
MSc. Meteorology : B.Sc. degree with Physics/Mathematics as the main subject with 55% marks. Those with Mathematics as the main subject should have studied Physics as one of the subsidiaries and vice-versa.
M.Sc Oceanography : B.Sc. degree with Physics/Mathematics as the main subject with 55% marks. Those with Mathematics as the main subject should have studied Physics as one of the subsidiaries and vice-versa.
M.Sc Physics : B.Sc. degree with Physics main and Mathematics as subsidiary with at least 55% marks in Physics.
M .F.Sc Seafood Safety and Trade : Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries / Food Technology / Food Science /Microbiology / Biochemistry / Zoology with
at least 55% marks in optional subjects. Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries includes Industrial Fisheries / Aquaculture / Fishery Science / Industrial Fish & Fisheries / B.F.Sc (Nautical Science). Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology / Food Science includes B.Tech / B.E. / B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology / Food Science and Management /Food Science / Food Technology / Food processing Technology / Food Science and Quality Control
M. Sc. Statistics : B.Sc. degree in Mathematics or Statistics main with at least 55% marks for optional subjects taken together.

1.3. DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Master of Intellectual Property (MIP),Ph.D : Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, History, Management and Science & Technology with 55% from any of the Universities in Kerala or an examination of any other University accepted by the University as equivalent thereto and should have obtained rank in CAT conducted by the University.
LL.M (IPR) Ph.D Degree : Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 55% from any of the Universities in Kerala or an examination of any other University accepted by the University as equivalent thereto and should have obtained rank in CAT conducted by the University

CUSAT Admission 2015 – CAT 2015 Exam Centres

For First Degree Programmes (B.Tech. and 5 year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics), the CAT will be conducted on All-India basis with test centres in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota, Dubai, Thiruvananathapuram, Kollam, Adoor (Pathanamthitta), Thodupuzha (Idukki), Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kalpatta (Wayanad) and Kasaragod.
