The National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) is a Central government-sponsored scheme. This is aiming at providing financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class 8 and encourage them to continue studies at the secondary stage.
The scholarship amount of Rs. 12000/- per annum is provided so that they could continue their secondary education in Government or Aided schools under Government of kerala other than special or residential schools.

NMMS 2025-26 Exam Syllabus : Procedure of the Test
The test will be conducted in Two Parts of 90 minutes duration each.
Part I : Part I- Mental Ability Test (MAT)- 10 am to 11.30. am
Part II : Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) – 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm

Students those who have qualified the examination will be awarded with a scholarship amount. Students have to open a joint account along with their parents to receive the scholarship amount. students will be awarded with a yearly scholarship of Rs. 12000 (Rs.1000 per month).
